- Your tune will appear under “Available Tunes” on the left window within the Updater. You will need to transfer it to the X4 by using the arrow button in the middle of the SCT Updater. Press “Program” when ready to transfer the custom tune to the X4.
- That may be the easiest way if you have tried everything else. I lost the stock tune on my X4 when I did a firmware update without returning to stock first. Had to get SCT to do a remote stock tune on the handheld and went from there. Did have to let them take control of the puter to do that.

Use Software Update
- Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu , then click Software Update to check for updates.
- If any updates are available, click the Update Now button to install them. Or click “More info” to see details about each update and select specific updates to install. You might be asked to enter your administrator password.
- When Software Update says that your Mac is up to date, the installed version of macOS and all of its apps are also up to date. That includes Safari, Music, Photos, Books, Messages, Mail, Calendar, and FaceTime.
- To automatically install future updates, including for apps that you got from the App Store, select “Automatically keep my Mac up to date.” Your Mac will notify you when updates require it to restart, so you can always choose to install those later.

If you installed the SCT device updater before you plugged the device in then this should be easy to fix.

With your device connected:
Open your computers Device Manager.
Look for a device that is not installed like one with a yellow exclamation mark. (Here is a screenshot of what you are looking for.)
If you see this, right click it and select update driver.
A new window should open up and give you the option to either automatically search, or browse for files.
Click browse for files
Navigate to the folder you downloaded, and select “Open”.
If you did this correctly, it’ll tell you your drivers have successfully been updated and once you click “OK” you should see something similar to the picture below.
Now your communication should work between the device and the computer. With most devices, you will want to unplug it and plug it back in and restart the device updater. Then click “Display Device Settings and Serial” and if the serial number shows up, it is communicating.
